On Saturday at approximately 2:00 pm, New Bedford Detectives from their Gang unit recovered a loaded .25 cal Raven Arms firearm. As result of an investigation which led to a vehicle stop, Detectives arrested 19-year old Rayshond Lewis of South Second Street in New Bedford. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Blackmer Street and Acushnet Avenue and Lewis was found to be in possession of the firearm. Lewis has a prior gun conviction from March of 2014.
Lewis was arrested and charged with:
1. unlawful carrying of a firearm
2. unlawful carrying of a firearm 2nd offense. (3/14/14)
3. carrying a loaded firearm
4. unlawful possession of ammunition
Lewis is scheduled to arraigned on Monday at 3rd District Court
