The Schwartz Center, the Southcoast’s leading provider of services for children with educational and developmental needs, will host its 28th annual fundraiser walk on Sunday, September 18th at Fort Taber in New Bedford. This year’s event, featuring a superhero theme, also includes a new 5K fun run with a certified course. Costumes encouraged!

The 5K certified course begins at Fort Taber and will be electronically timed by RaceWire. Registration is required to participate in the timed 5K and ends on August 26. Superhero capes will be given to the first participants who preregister while supplies last. For more information and to register please visit www.schwartzcenterwalk.org or call (508) 742-6425.

The walk is a signature fundraiser for The Schwartz Center, currently raising an average of $100,000 annually for the not-for-profit organization, which provides services for children with special educational and developmental needs in the Greater New Bedford community.

“We would not have been able to serve this many children for this long without dedicated donors and support from our community. Every contribution helps us to increase the number of children and families that benefit from compassionate and impactful approach to individualized education,” said Meeting Street and The Schwartz Center President John M. Kelly.
