St. Patrick’s Day in New Bedford

With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Thursday this year, one might think there isn’t much going on in New Bedford.  Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. There will be more corned beef and cabbage, green beer, and live music than you can shake a clover at, with even more to come during the ½ Marathon Race weekend!  So here’s a list of everything happening in New Bedford for St. Patrick’s Day.

Celtic Coffee House: 42 North Water Street & 49 State Pier (located in the Fast Ferry Terminal), New Bedford.
Hours of Operation: Mon – Sat: 7:00 A.M.– 6:00 P.M. Sun: 8:00 A.M.– 4:00 P.M.
Special Activities: New food specials every day until St. Patty’s Day.  Check out the menu and a review of the Celtic Coffee House  here.

Kirby’s Irish Pub: 818 Kempton Street, New Bedford, (508) 992-1999.
St. Patty’s Day Hours: Noon-2 A.M.  THAT’S RIGHT- ALL DAY!
Food: Corned Beef Sandwiches to munch on.
Special Activities: The “Kirby’s Classic Outside Tent” will be open until 11 P.M. Bags (corn-hole) and washers will be played during the day (weather permitting).   There will also be prizes, giveaways, and many specials, including Jello Shots! $25 cash prize for the best St Paddy’s day outfit.
Entertainment: The O’Toole’s will play from 5-6:30 P.M.  Craig Demelo follows from 8 P.M-midnight.  Get there early people!!

Catwalk Bar & Grille: 34 Union Street, New Bedford, (508) 994-3355.
St. Patty’s Day Hours: Opens at noon.
Food: Special Irish menu between noon and 9 P.M.  Featuring Shepherd’s Pie and Corned Beef Sandwiches.
Special Activities: Irish music all day and GREEN BEER!
DJ JT Stevens on St. Patrick’s Day.  The O’Toole’s will be playing live at the Catwalk on March 20th starting at 6 P.M.

Food: Special Irish menu, catered by the Candleworks Restaurant from noon-9 P.M.  Menu includes Irish Potato Skins, Corned Beef Dinner, Corned Beef Sandwich with French Fries (or Potato Chips), Chicken Fingers or Fried Shrimp & French Fries.
Irish Music all day, followed by the biggest Karaoke night in the city with DJ JK Music.
