Zeiterion offers festive fun for everyone this holiday season, including return of Nebraska Theatre Caravan’s “A Christmas Carol”

Zeiterion Performing Arts Center serves up five festive performances this holiday season, including the anticipated return of Nebraska Theatre Caravan’s A Christmas Carol. The yuletide line-up of family-friendly shows, seasonal favorites, and holiday classics begins with The TEN Tenors on December 5. Tickets are available by calling 508-994-2900, online at https://zeiterion.org/, or at the Zeiterion Box Office at 684 Purchase Street in New Bedford. Group sales of 10 tickets or more for select shows are available at a discounted rate by calling 508-997-5664 x123.

Come home for the holidays with The TEN Tenors! With a generous mix of festive favorites and modern holidays hits, The TEN Tenors will take you through a musical winter wonderland that truly captures the essence of the holidays. Fun for the whole family, the show also features many of the rock and classical songs that have made this group world famous. There’s nowhere in the world The TEN Tenors would rather be performing this show than in the USA during the holiday season!

A Christmas Carol

After a year hiatus, the celebrated adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol from Nebraska Theatre Caravan is back on The Z stage. The classic is rich with thrilling ensemble music, alive with color and movement and is created to tell this great and enduring tale in a manner that people of all ages will enjoy. Woven throughout this classic tale are beautiful new arrangements and moving renditions of holiday songs such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Wassail Wassail,” “Good Christian Men Rejoice,” “Away in a Manger,” “Greensleeves,” “The Boar’s Head Carol,” and many more. Featuring a cast of 23 performers, live musicians, and Broadway-style scenery and costumes, audiences cherish this sumptuous holiday classic.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Movie Mondays at The Z gets into the holiday spirit with the perennial favorite National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) vows his clan will enjoy “the most fun-filled family Christmas ever.” But before you can sing “Fa-la-la-la-lah,” he decks the halls with howls of folly. There are 25,000 lights on the roof. An exploding turkey on the dining room table A SWAT team taking siege outside. With a supporting cast of Beverly D’Angelo, Randy Quaid, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Juliette Lews, William Hicky and more, it’s full of wit, heart, and sheer goofiness. Yule love it!

NBSO Presents Holiday Pops Family Concert

Share the joy of the season with friends and family at the best holiday concert in town! New Bedford Symphony’s magnificent Orchestra plays all the holiday favorites, and the Southeastern Massachusetts Youth Orchestra and Showstoppers join in for a holiday performance that will make everyone merry! A family-friendly atmosphere, festively decorated theater, and two performance times make this the perfect family holiday outing.

Cultural Road Trip to Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker
Sunday, December 15, 1:30 p.m.

Come aboard a motor coach to the Boston Opera House for a holiday classic at the world-class Boston Ballet. Tickets include transportation with lunch, prime seating, and a post-show Boston Ballet dancer meet-and-greet.

Also in December, Chipper Lowell (from CW’s Master of Illusion) brings his unusual blend of stand-up comedy, improvisation, and twisted visual magic in The Chipper Experience – Where Comedy & Magic Collide on Sunday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. Plus, the Zeiterion’s 2019/2020 Stage Door Live series kicks off with Popa Chubby on Thursday, December 12, 7:30 p.m. for an on-stage performance the melds The Stooges, Buddy Guy, Motörhead, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix and Robert Johnson!
