Women and 8-year old son hit in Dartmouth Mall parking lot

On Tuesday, June 19, at 7:19 p.m., Dartmouth Police responded to the Dartmouth Mall parking lot to investigate a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 27-year-old female pedestrian, identified as Karina MALDONADO of Providence, RI, and her 8-year-old son, had been struck by a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander operated by 53-year-old Elizabeth PLATT of Lakeville, MA.

As a result of the crash, both MALDONADO and her son were transported to Rhode Island/Hasbro Children’s Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have yet been filed, and the crash remains under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
