Woman shot Tuesday evening on Chestnut Street in New Bedford

New Bedford police officers responded to a report of a woman who was shot in the upper torso at about 8:41 p.m. Tuesday at 130 Chestnut St in New Bedford. The woman was transported to an area hospital and her condition is not believed to be life-threatening. Police are investigating.
