Winter Storm Watch Issued For Greater New Bedford; 4-7 Inches Expected

New Bedford has been issued a winter storm watch that will go into effect at midnight until 1:00pm Monday February 18th. Heavy snow is possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible.

Most of the snow will fall between 9:00 pm tonight and 1:00 am Monday morning, then lighter snow should linger into the afternoon. Travel may be difficult during the morning commute. Plan on slippery road conditions. A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS:
Roads will become snow covered/slippery along with reduced visibility for the Monday morning commute (although more limited given the Holiday). Highest snow totals will likely occur across southeast MA into RI where a Winter Storm Watch is posted.

Greatest risk for snow and slippery roads during the Monday afternoon/early evening commute will be across eastern MA, where the ending time will be the latest.
