Winter Storm Watch in effect for Sunday and Monday

According to the National Weather Service in Taunton, a winter storm watch remains in effect from Sunday morning through Monday evening.

Hartford CT-Tolland CT-Windham CT-Eastern Essex MA- Western Norfolk MA-Southeast Middlesex MA-Suffolk MA- Eastern Norfolk MA-Northern Bristol MA-Western Plymouth MA- Eastern Plymouth MA-Barnstable MA-Northwest Providence RI- Southeast Providence RI-Western Kent RI-Eastern Kent RI- Including the cities of Hartford, Windsor Locks, Union, Vernon, Putnam, Willimantic, Gloucester, Foxborough, Norwood, Cambridge, Boston, Quincy, Taunton, Brockton, Plymouth, Chatham, Falmouth, Provincetown, Foster, Smithfield, Providence, Coventry, West Greenwich, EAST GREENWICH, WARWICK, and WEST WARWICK

* LOCATIONS…include Northern Connecticut, Northern Rhode Island, and Southeast Massachusetts.

* HAZARD TYPES…include moderate to heavy snow, as well as blowing snow.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…of 4 to 8 inches.

* TIMING…Snow will move into the region tomorrow morning, perhaps starting as either rain or a wintry mix. Heaviest snow is forecast beginning early Monday morning and persisting through the day, concluding into the evening hours.

* IMPACTS…The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to blowing snow…reduced visibility…and additional power outages.

* WINDS…North 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* VISIBILITIES…One quarter mile or less at times.
