Weymouth Firefighters take Sgt. Michael Chesna “thin blue line” flag on Massachusetts tour

2 years ago Sgt. Michael Chesna responded to reports of an erratic driver and came upon a crashed vehicle. He found the driver had walked into a home and was vandalizing it when the man struck him on the head with a rock, took his firearm and shot him in the chest and head, before fleeing the scene.

The man also shot and killed Weymouth resident Vera Adams who lived in the residence, before being wounded by police and taken into custody.

“The Sgt. Michael Chesna ”thin blue line” flag began its tour around the Commonwealth on Weymouth Firefighters Engine 3.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing pictures of this flag at fire departments throughout the Commonwealth to show our continued support of the Chesna family and all other families that have lost police officers in the line of duty.

At the culmination of its journey, the flag will return to Weymouth where we will present it to Cindy Chesna and her children.” -Firefighters of MA.
