Westport Woman charged with OUI drugs

New Bedford Police Detective Jonathan Lagoa has charged a 32 year old female from Westport with operating under the influence of drugs. Det. Lagoa was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle striking a tree. The accident occurred yesterday, September 20th at approximately 3:00pm in front of 57 Robert Street.

When police arrived on scene they found a blue Hyundai Sonata up against a tree. New Bedford Fire Department was on scene administering narcan to the female operator. Detective Lagoa found evidence of drug use in the vehicle. Female did not sustain injuries as result of the crash but was taken to st. Luke’s due to having narcan administered. Tree sustained minor damage as did her vehicle.

  1. Operating Under the influence of Drugs
  2. Reckless Operation of a motor vehicle
  3. Uninsured motor vehicle

Vehicle was towed from scene. An immediate threat revocation of her license form was also filed and submitted to the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
