Westport Firefighter/Paramedics kept busy answering nearly 60 calls for service

“Westport Firefighter/Paramedics were kept busy this past week answering nearly 60 calls for service.

Crews responded to multiple medical emergencies, including cardiac emergencies, respiratory emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, an overdose, and more.

Engine 1 provided mutual aid to Little Compton for their working house fire on Saturday, followed by a utility shed fire later that evening in North Westport. Crews also handled a small exterior electrical fire early Sunday afternoon and answered several alarm activations throughout the week.

On duty crews were assisted by off duty and on-call firefighters. Mutual aid EMS was received while crews were on the fire scene Saturday evening.

In between calls crews are kept busy training, pre-planing, maintaining equipment, the stations and our apparatus. We have answered over 600 calls for service since the start of the new year.”-Westport Fire Department.
