Westport, Swansea Fire Departments assist Warren Fire Department extinguish animal barn fire

*Major Incident*

At 23:24 hrs yesterday Engines 6, 4, 5 and Tower Ladder 1 were dispatched to Barton Avenue, Warren, Rhode Island for a possible structure fire.

Car 1 and first arriving companies found a fully involved barn as they approached the scene. Car 1 requested Engines 1, 2, 3, and Rescue as well as the East Bay tanker task force due to lack of hydrants in the area. Crews were able to evacuate most livestock in the barn. Our thoughts are with the owners at this difficult time.

Tankers from Swansea Fire Dept, Rehoboth Ma Fire Department, Westport Fire Department, Massachusetts, and Providence Canteen also responded and helped greatly. Bristol Fire Department-RI provided station coverage. Thank you for your assistance.

Apparatus were on scene till 0400. Shortly after, companies responded to 2 EMS calls, a motor vehicle accident, as well as a local alarm. We wish everyone a Happy Easter, and to our members, much needed rest.” -Warren Fire Department.
