On Sunday, December 2, several members of the Wareham Police Department participated in the “Stuff a Cruiser” and the “Shop with a Cop” events.

The Wareham Police Association under the direction of Juvenile Detective Karl Baptiste and Officer Calib Larue collected hundreds of toys for deserving families in Wareham. In addition to the police officers, members of the Department of Natural Resources provided transportation for the toys. All of the officers who participated did so on their own time and always have fun participating.

Acting Chief John Walcek said, “We are very grateful to all of the people who gave so generously and are thankful to both Target and Walmart for helping with this every year.” He added, “Another huge component of the event is the assistance Garry Buckminster and the DNR officers. Without their help, we could not accomplish all that we do.”

The Wareham Police Department wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday season and reminds you that if you need us we are a phone call away.
