Wareham Police and Fire/EMS respond to head-on collision

On Friday morning, December 18, at 8:20 a.m. Wareham Police, Fire, and EMS responded to Sandwich Road for a report of head-on motor vehicle accident. At the scene, emergency responders located two vehicles with heavy damage off into the brush, on the side of the road.

Wareham Fire and EMS removed an individual from one vehicle, and they were transported to Tobey Hospital with unknown injuries. Sandwich Road was closed to through traffic for about one hour while emergency responders worked at the scene.

Initial reports are that one vehicle tried to pass another, and then struck a vehicle in the opposite lane causing the accident. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by Officer Malik Wilkes and Sergeant Paul Somers.
