“Wareham Department of Natural Resources responded to an area of Minot Forest near the entrance to Parkwood Beach for a report of vandalism in the forest.

Officers that responded to the area observed numerous trees and rocks had been spray painted with swastika emblems and other painting as well as two trees were cut down by axe. Also close by were the remains of a fairly fresh fire.

Officers were able to remove the anti-semitic symbols but there is still a clean up of the area that will be needed. We anticipate having a crew out on the trails next week to work on the area.

This is very discouraging that we are dealing with this unacceptable act of vandalism and it is taken very seriously. The paintings are very juvenile in manner, so parents, if you have kids that you know use Minot Forest could you please have a chat with them?! We will be watching! ?” -Wareham Department of Natural Resources.
