Wareham man struck by train

On Saturday, July 13, at 8:00 p.m., Wareham Police Communications officers Taylor Nelson and Nicolle Amaral received a call of male struck by a train on the tracks near Hathaway Street.

Multiple police, EMS, and fire units responded to the area. Sergeant Paul Somers, Officers Lorenzo Grosso, and Michael Phinney arrived first and found a 41-year-old Wareham resident with severe injuries. The officers performed emergency medical aid until the arrival of EMS personnel. The male was transported to Tobey Hospital and then taken to a Boston hospital.

The accident is currently under investigation.
