WANTED: Bay Sox Is Looking For Host Families

Did you know that New Bedford is host to a nationally ranked summer collegiate baseball team? The New Bedford Bay Sox continues a New England tradition that started 130 years ago. The Bay Sox are members of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

The League has thirteen teams across the six New England states and is considered one of the nations elite summer leagues. It brings together top-ranked college players from around the country, who aspire to achieve their big league dreams. Two of the Bay Sox biggest rivals hail from Plymouth and Newport.

What makes the league a success is the host families that house and support our local players. Without them the Sox wouldn’t have a team!

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Private bedroom from June 1st until early August
  • Access to a washer/dryer for the player’s clothes
  • The family’s home should be within 30 miles of New Bedford, MA
  • Some food in the refrigerator (the team feeds the players after all games)
  • The player’s transportation will be taken care of
