Want to star on a web based show this summer? The Unadoptables web-show series (https://www.facebook.com/unadoptables), produced by New Bedford Guide and the New Bedford Pet Detective and presented by NEMRA, is looking for a host for Season One. This is a paid position that requires approximately 4 hours a week in June and July. Interested in sponsoring the show? Details here.

Show concept:

Puppies, kittens and cute dogs and cats are very adoptable. Older dogs/cats, those with behavioral or medical issues, are not. In many ways these animals are “unadoptable” and languish for long periods of times, sometimes over a year, in pet shelters. There are plenty of humans willing to offer a loving home to them, but they just need to be alerted of a pet in need. Along comes a weekly film project called “The Unadoptables.”

The concept is to coordinate with pet shelters in the South Coast, MA area and have them send details on the least adoptable dogs, cats and other legally adoptable pets. The ones that are too old, have medical conditions, don’t do well with children, etc. We’ll then have a “team” of experts (vets, trainers) work with the animals, help make them adoptable and provide future care once the pet is adopted.

We will also have sponsors pay the shelter’s adoption fee and provide a “starter kit” of supplies to the new owner. Basically, the show will take away every barrier for adoption and provide the marketing to a 100,000+ residents in the South Coast, MA area.

Auditions are set for Saturday, May 23rd, 2015, from 12 – 4pm at the Hawthorne Country Club on 970 Tucker Road in Dartmouth, MA.

What we are looking for:

  • You must love and work well with animals, especially dogs and cats. Owning a pet or past experience with animals a plus.
  • Males and females of all ages welcome.
  • It’s an unscripted setting, but you must be able to articulate on camera.
  • We have 8 episodes planned. Filming begins in June and ends in July. Weekend shoots are preferred.

Interested in being our host? Please fill out this form and show up to the audition on May 23rd. If you can’t make the audition, but would still like to be considered, fill out the form and email us at info@newbedfordguide.com:
