Two teenagers arrested in connection to Aug. 26 shootings in New Bedford

On Wednesday, September 4, New Bedford Police Detectives arrested two males, one a juvenile, in connection with the shooting that occurred on August 26, 2019 in the area of Chancery Street and Middle Street.

Wilber Alvarado, 18, of 60 South Second Street and a male juvenile were taken into custody by Detectives as a result of the investigation and charged with assault and battery by means of a firearm and additional firearm charges.

As a result of the shooting, two victims sustained injuries. A juvenile male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and a second male sustained injuries from a bullet fragment that struck him in the eye.

Both are due to be arraigned on September 4, at Third District Court.
