Two local body shops step up to help with vandalized car owners in New Bedford

What we do for others is how we are defined as a community.

Last Monday, a 20-year old man and two 14-year old boys were arrested and charged with vandalizing up to 40 cars in New Bedford. Knowing how our judges operate, not much will likely happen to those charged, but the owners of the cars will have to take money out of their pockets to fix their vehicles. Most people have an auto insurance deductible and some can be over $1,000.

A few days ago on our Facebook page, we asked for local auto body shops to step up and help. Two auto body shops stepped and we met with them. Both have agreed to provide assistance and some discount to those effected.

Sparky’s Autobody Shop at 2767 Acushnet Ave in New Bedford (508 995-4655) and J Autobody Collision Repairs at 211RR Middle Road in Acushnet (774 451-4878) have asked those with cars damaged on June 12th to contact them for assistance. New Bedford Guide will be providing significant marketing to the autobody shops in return and will follow the story as it develops.

If you are an autobody shop that would like to help, contact mike@newbedfordguide.com.
