On Saturday, June 23, at about 5:15 p.m., Trooper Brian Kilfoyle of the State Police Barracks in Dartmouth was on patrol on County Street in New Bedford when he did a registration check on a Pontiac Grand Prix. This revealed the Pontiac did not have an inspection sticker. Trooper Kilfoyle stopped the vehicle, which had three occupants.
The operator was identified as a 30-year-old male, of Acushnet, the front passenger was identified as HORACE BLAKE, a 30-year-old male of New Bedford and the rear passenger identified herself as Nicole Finch.
As a result of an investigation and search of the occupants and vehicle, Trooper Kilfoyle who was assisted by Troopers Ryan Toolin and Paul Dunderdale, located 43 grams of crack cocaine and $1,643 in cash. Both passengers were placed under arrest and transported to the Dartmouth barracks for booking.
The driver was issued a civil citation for no inspection Sticker.
During booking, troopers determined that FINCH was actually SAMANTHA SAYCE, 28, of New Bedford.
SAYCE was criminally charged with the following offenses:
1) Identity Fraud
2) Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws;
3) Three Warrants;
4) Arrestee Furnishing False Name;
5) Possession of Class B
BLAKE was criminally charged with the following offenses:
1) Trafficking In Cocaine;
2) Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws;
3) Possession with intent to distribute Class B (Cocaine)
