This morning, police officers, state troopers and federal agents executed a search warrant at a Holyoke residence following an investigation into drug distribution from that address. Police seized two guns, as well as cocaine, heroin, and marijuana in the raid. Two suspects who lived at that residence were arrested.
The investigation into the suspects was initiated in January. A search of the residence at 43 North Summer St. resulted in the seizure of the following: a .22 caliber rifle and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun; approximately 130 grams of crack and powder cocaine; approximately 50 grams of heroin; approximately 350 grams of marijuana, brass knuckles, and nearly $4,000 cash.
Arrested was an 18 year-old-man and a 46 year-old-man, both of Holyoke. They were each charged with trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm (two counts), unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm (two counts), possession of a firearm in commission of a felony (two counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a dangerous weapon, the brass knuckles.
Both men were booked at the Holyoke Police Department and later transported to Holyoke District Court for arraignment.
Departments and units participating in the investigation and search warrant execution were the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, the Holyoke Police Department, the Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force, and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.
