TRED Conference IV will be taking place November 13th-14th

“Another Education is Possible: Transforming Education through Resistance, Resilience & Empowerment”

The 2015 TRED Conference will be held at Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School. Dr. Lilia Bartolomé will be the keynote on Friday at 5:30 pm, and Dr. Vajra Watson will be the keynote on Saturday at 9 am. Paper sessions to follow on Saturday. Register for the conference now.

This year’s theme is Another Education is Possible: Transforming Education through Resistance, Resilience, and Empowerment. We understand the importance of having a dialogue about the critical spaces for resistance in education among researchers, communities, youth, and educators in order to begin to work for critical transformative change both locally and globally.

Dr. Vajra Watson will be speaking on Saturday, Nov. 14th about “The Pedagogy of Our Lives: Teaching Tools for Social Resistance within and beyond the Walls of Schools.” The registration flyer and program for this year’s TRED Conference are attached. There will be spoken word, symposiums, panel presentations, and workshops for adults and youth. Kids activities on Saturday form 9 am-1pm hosted by Doodles through 3rd EyE Youth Empowerment.

Conference scholarships available through registration. PDPs also available for those who attend both days.
