Three injured, one med-flighter after serious head-on Wrentham crash

“From Police Chief Bill McGrath:

On March 17, 2023 at about 7:49 pm, Wrentham Police and Fire responded to a two car crash at the intersection of East St. and Common Street in front of the Wrentham District Court.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles in the middle of the road, heavily damaged.

Preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling north on East Street (Rt. 140) toward Wrentham Center, veered left at the split to continue on Common Street. In doing so, the operator of the pickup truck crossed oncoming traffic on Rt. 140 southbound, striking a Hyundai Elantra head on.

The operator of the Toyota pickup truck was not seriously injured. The passenger of the pickup sustained life threatening injuries. She was treated at the scene and then transported by Fire Rescue to King Philip High School where she was then Med Flighted to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center.

The operator and sole occupant of the Hyundai Elantra also sustained serious injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center.

The accident is under investigation by Wrentham Police and Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team. No charges have been filed at this time.”-Wrentham Police Department.
