Fairhaven Police Detectives arrested three people Thursday afternoon after observing them engage in drug dealing activity. They initially watched two of the three parties complete a suspected drug transaction at the Huttleston Motel, located on Route 6 in Fairhaven. They then followed the pair in their vehicle to the center of Fairhaven where they watched as they parked and were joined in their car by a third person, who got into the back seat.
As investigators approached the parked vehicle, a male in the front passenger seat was completing a hand to hand drug transaction with the male who was seated in the rear. All three people were removed from the car without incident. The male party who was in the front passenger seat was found to be in possession of over seven grams of heroin. He was identified as 21 year old Swade Stromme of Carver. The male who entered the back seat of the car was found to be in possession of 2 ½ Percocet tablets. He was identified as 28 year old Shawn Weinel of Sebring, Florida. The female driver was identified as a 19 year old female..
Stromme was charged with distribution of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Weinel was charged with possession of a class b substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Lewis was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and knowingly being present where heroin was kept. All three were arraigned in Third District Court.
