The Greater New Bedford unemployment rate is much higher than the rest of Massachusetts, but believe it or not there really are a lot of available for qualified applicants. Sometimes the barrier to a new job can be the lack of information on available job openings.

To solve this, each week New Bedford Guide will pull jobs from our jobs database to inform job seekers about the hottest jobs in the area.

Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. 04. Diesel Mechanic – Ryder (New Bedford)
Under close supervision, this position performs minor to average routine maintenance and repair services on different types of vehicles. Works with the assistance of a T3, T4, TIC, SS or SM, when performing highly technical and superior diagnostic type repairs. 05. 2nd Shift Machinist/Assembler – Morgan Advanced Materials
Perform various tasks as assigned by Department Supervisor. Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and standards. Ability to work with minimum supervision, being mechanically inclined to independently troubleshoot in order to maintain product flow. Description Cleaning, repairing, adjusting and installing molds and scheduling mold changes to meet mold expectations and product mix needs. Maintain equipment such as presses, molds, spray guns, package material and valves for improving quality, safety and productivity. Maintain proper logs on mold releases, hazardous material, molds and presses. Support associates in continuous improvement efforts and assist/coordinate testing, conversion and installation of new methods, procedures or equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company’s products and services and for building relationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is to help Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company. 09. Security Officer – St. Luke’s Hospital
High school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized college courses in Law Enforcement, or a graduate of a recognized law enforcement academy required. May require obtaining Special Police/Constable powers within a designated municipality. Over three months up to and including one year’s experience required.
