Friends are seeking more members for their non-profit group.

The Friends of the New Bedford Free Public Library is holding their annual meeting at the Library on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m.

The Friends is a non-profit group of volunteers that help raise funds to programs and events at the library that are not part of the appropriated city budget. Without their fundraising efforts, a lot of the children’s programming would not be possible throughout the summer and during school vacation weeks.

They are seeking more members via their annual meeting and program which is sure to be a great time for all who attend.

The annual meeting of the Board of the Friends will begin at 6:00 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. the program will feature Henry Bousquet, culinary arts instructor, at NB Voc Tech along with Devin Byrne, owner and executive chef of Destination Soups, doing a cooking demonstration. Henry will create a fall soup for tasting and Devin, a signature sandwich to complement the soup. Recipes will be available and light refreshments served.
