Temporary New Bedford Emergency Shelter Needs Volunteers, Donations

Mercy Meals and More received ” the call” and the temporary emergency shelter will be open Wednesday, February 6th and Thursday, February 27th so people can come out of the cold. Mercy Meals and More is located at 634 Purchase Street in downtown New Bedford. They are in need of sponsors to help watch the place and supplies.

Male and female sponsors needed:

  • Wednesday: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 2 a.m to 6 a.m.
  • Thursday: 7 p.m. to midnight and midnight to 6 a.m.

They can also use donations of soup, fresh fruit, yogurt, pudding and soda ( cans preferred). Rev. Russ will be at Mercy Meals and More starting at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday to accept donations and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Please contact Rev. Russ at 508-728-1489 to volunteer or to donate items.
