The City has called and asked Mercy Meals and More to open up the Temporary Emergency Shelter at least one more time on Tuesday, March 23rd and Wednesday, March 24th starting at 9 p.m. They need sponsors to over see the guests from 9 to 2 a.m. and 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. They can also use food and clothing donations.
Mercy Meals and More is located at 634 Purchase Street in downtown New Bedford. Give Rev. Russ a call at 508-728-1489 if you are able to donate or help sponsor a shift.
I work at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in Boston. I may be able to help you with clothing, and will link you up with the Greater Boston Food Bank. I am The Kitchen Storeroom Manager there and utilize the food bank on a weekly basis. I will help you set up an account there. As far as clothing goes we have an excess of clothing and I can possibly deliver some to you. Please let me know. I would be glad to assist you.
