Hampden County Drug Task Force Seize 2000 bags of Heroin in Springfield

Yesterday, members of the Hampden County Drug Task Force announced the arrest of JOSE RAMERIZ for trafficking Heroin. RAMERIZ, was the subject in a month long investigation to a drug trafficking operation out of Springfield. On November 5th, RAMERIZ was arrested for selling 40 half-packs, approximately 2000 bags of a substance believed to be Heroin at his residence in Springfield. Each Heroin pack was stamped with “NIKE” and “Hollywood”.

JOSE RAMERIZ, 30, of Springfield was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses;

1. Distribution Class “A” Substance (Heroin), Subsequent Offense.
2. Trafficking in Heroin 36-100 less than 100 grams.
3. Violation of a Drug Free School Zone.

RAMERIZ was booked at the State Police barracks in Springfield and held on bail pending his arraignment in Springfield District Court today.
