Suspect in Fall River Homicide Ordered Held

Adrienne Brown fall riverBristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn announced that Adrienne A. Brown, 37, of 477 Third Street, was ordered held on $500,000 cash bail during her arraignment today in Fall River District Court. Ms. Brown is charged with murder and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon connected to the Saturday homicide of 53-year-old Brian Jones in Fall River.

Ms. Brown had been sought by police since fleeing the area of the homicide shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. She turned herself in to Fall River Police this morning. She is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on June 29th.

Fall River Police received a 911 call regarding a man stabbed outside of 477 Third Street, shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders located the 53-year-old male victim lying outside of 477 Third Street, suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim, later identified as Mr. Jones, was rushed to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River where he succumbed to his injuries and died.

The investigation was coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Courtney Cahill, who also handled today’s arraignment of Ms. Brown. Although an arrest has occurred, Fall River Police, working in concert with State Police deceives and homicide unit prosecutors from this office, continue to actively investigate the homicide.
