Supt finalist Ana Riley’s New Bedford visit rescheduled to Monday, March 26

Due to the weather forecast and early dismissal of schools today, Wednesday, March 21, Superintendent Finalist Ana C. Riley’s visit to New Bedford Public Schools has been rescheduled to Monday, March 26.

Four finalists presented to the School Committee earlier this month are visiting New Bedford Public Schools, spending the day in the district and visiting several schools; finalists Robert J. Gerardi, Jr. and Heather D. Larkin visited earlier this week. Finalist Thomas Anderson will visit on Friday, March 23, and finalist Ana C. Riley will visit on Monday, March 26.

Public meet-and-greet events for NBPS families and city residents will be held with each candidate from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Keith Middle School Community Room.

Each candidate’s visit to the district will conclude with their public interview before the School Committee, to be held in the Keith Middle School Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. on the day of his/her visit.

The School Committee is slated to vote to appoint the next Superintendent during the week of March 26; the new Superintendent is slated to begin his/her duties on July 1.

Schedule of Remaining Visits by Finalists:

Friday, 3/23 – Thomas Anderson visits New Bedford Public Schools
4:30 p.m. – Meet and Greet with NBPS Families: Keith Middle School Community Room
6:00 p.m. – Public Interview: Keith Middle School Auditorium

Monday, 3/26 – Ana Riley visits New Bedford Public Schools
4:30 p.m. – Meet and Greet with NBPS Families: Keith Middle School Community Room
6:00 p.m. – Public Interview: Keith Middle School Auditorium
