Today, minutes before the 5 pm deadline, former Ward 2 city councilor Steven Martins submitted nomination papers for at-Large City Council. He still has to officially file by the 30 August deadline.
Martins picked up papers around 4 pm and returned the minimum 50 signatures at 4:45 pm. There was speculation that Martins would run for mayor, but he decided to run for at-Large instead.
Hahaha! He did it in 45 minutes. Take that Russell Dearing! Ask him why he was afraid to go door to door for signatures…
