State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Milton UPDATED

Yesterday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. a female pedestrian was struck on Brush Hill Road at Aberdeen Road in Milton. Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing Aberdeen Road and the vehicle that struck her, a Jeep Wrangler, was traveling in the left lane. The Jeep swerved into the median attempting to avoid the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, an 18-year-old female from Milton, was transported to Boston Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The operator of the motor vehicle, a 44-year-old male from Hyde Park, stayed at the scene. No further information about the operator or the identity of the victim, are being released at this time.

This crash remains under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. No charges have been filed at this time; the ongoing investigation will determine if charges are warranted. State Police were also assisted on scene by Milton Police, Fire and EMS.

UPDATE: The woman who died after being struck by a vehicle on Brush Hill Road in Milton yesterday has been identified as KATELISA ETIENNE, 18, of Milton. See below release for currently available details on that crash. No further information is being released at this time.
