St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Dartmouth to offer Service of Remembrance for those we have lost to Addiction

On Sunday, January 29, 2017, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and The Bridge: A Center of Hope and Healing in Dartmouth will offer a special community-wide “Service of Remembrance and Prayer” for those members of our community who have died due to addiction. This service is being held in conjunction with the Addiction Policy Forum’s National Day of Remembrance. (http://www.addictionpolicy.org/remembrance-day)

The 10:30AM Service of Remembrance will be offered as part of St. Peter’s weekly service of Holy Eucharist and will include special music and healing rituals to remember those we have lost. Family members and friends of those who have died are encouraged to attend. Also, folks who are currently struggling with addiction as well as their family and supporters are welcome.

This special service is open to everyone in the community. In the Episcopal Church, all are welcome to receive Eucharist and participate fully in the service regardless of life story, self-image, marriage situation or sexual orientation.

Special guest speaker at the service will be Dr. Michael Rocha, Hawthorn Medical cardiologist, director of heart failure services at St. Luke’s Hospital and one of the co-founders of the group Physicians to Prevent Opiate Abuse (PPOA).

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is located at 351 Elm St. in Dartmouth.
