On December 15, 2017 at 6:30PM, MIMO organizes annual Christmas caroling and donations to support women. The group will meet at the southeast corner (Rockdale Ave. and Hawthorn St.) of Buttonwood Park. Lyrics, candles, and cookies will be provided. Donations for the Women’s Center are not required, but encouraged. All are welcome. (Rain date is Saturday Dec. 16th.)

This is MIMOs fifth year caroling! About thirty to forty people show up from the Greater New Bedford area. Many are strangers, but a few families return each and every year. The children have got it down by now; They lead the way, knock on the doors, and pass out the cookies and cards. The carolers are anticipated by Hawthorn street and Maple street residents and often given treats in return, as an expression of gratitude.

As usual, carolers will make their way down Hawthorn and a few side streets, stopping at homes to drop off cookies and holiday cards — provided by MIMO — while singing classic Christmas songs. No singing experience is necessary.

For years, carolers have shown up with generosity of spirit. This year, in honor of our fifth year, carolers are asked to donate items to support women — other moms — who might not feel as hopeful this holiday season. MIMO organizer, Cynthia Roy, will collect and drop donations off to the Women’s Center.

Items may include:

Hygiene and household products
New underwear and socks
Bus passes and gas cards
Snacks and water

MIMO (Mindful Moms) is a local group of like minded moms who feel strongly about parenting mindfully, taking responsibility for the health of our planet, and building a vibrant, loving community. MIMO organizes play groups, volunteer work, and family oriented community events.

Please RSVP through the Facebook page so we have enough supplies: lyric books, candles, cookies, etc.For more information call Cynthia at (508) 858-1897.
