Spinner Celebrates 35 Years Fundraising Event

Spinner Publications will hold its “Spinner Celebrates: 35 Years” Fundraiser at the Fort Taber Community Center located in picturesque Fort Taber Park in New Bedford on Saturday, November 5th from 4pm to 8pm. Theme for the evening will be “Travel back in time to a Prohibition Speakeasy” — ’20s attire optional. There will be an open-bar with signature drinks tended by OCD Beverages. Distinctive seafood, meat and vegetarian fare catered by M & C Café. Guests can dance to the swing jazz music of the era performed by The Meadowlarks. Topping the event will be auctions showcasing masterful works of art and artisanry created by local artists; exotic trips to far-off destinations (such as Boston, Newport and Martha’s Vineyard); and gift-crates filled with unique items and opportunities donated by local merchants.

Tickets are priced at $75 and can be purchased at www.spinnerpub.com or by calling (508) 994-4564 through October 28 th . There is limited seating; early reservations are recommended. Proceeds will support Spinner’s educational projects and new books, including A Picture History of New Bedford ~ Volume Three, 1980-2016.
