SouthCoast Wind to hold Brayton Point Open House

SouthCoast Wind (formerly Mayflower Wind), the developer of an offshore wind project located in waters far off the coast of Massachusetts, is hosting a Brayton Point open house on Thursday, April 20th from 6- PM at The Fairfield Inn & Suites, 602 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy., Somerset, MA.

Representatives from SouthCoast Wind will share information about its:

Offshore wind energy lease area and export cable route
Brayton Point, Somerset, MA converter station and grid connection
SouthCoast Wind project progress and next steps

  1. SouthCoast Wind faces major hurdles in Falmouth Massachusetts & Portsmouth Rhode Island. The local residents don’t want 800-megawatt cable buried through their neighborhoods. The Pilgrim nuclear plant generated 680 megawatts. This project if approved will change these towns forever.
