Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care to host Celebration of Life event on Sunday, September 25

The Celebration of Hope is an annual event held by the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care which celebrates patients who are living with, through or beyond cancer, and their families.

WHEN: Sunday, September 25
11 a.m.: Registration
Noon: Speaking program
1 p.m.: Entertainment

WHERE: Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care
206 Mill Road, Fairhaven, Mass.

WHAT: The speaking portion of the event will include a presentation to the family of Dr. John Podkowa, who lost his wife, Nicole, to cancer earlier this year. The keynote speaker is Linda Bodenmann, Southcoast Health Executive VP and COO, who recently overcame breast cancer and is speaking about her experience publicly for the first time. There will also be a special surprise by close to 100 members of the Dartmouth High School Orchestra. Following the speaking portion, there will be opportunities for guests to take part in activities and view creations by local artists.

NOTE: If a guest is wearing a purple and yellow badge, that person is a current patient and has chosen not to waive their patient privacy rights. Therefore, any photos that contain that person’s image cannot be used by the media.
