Package Handler – UPS (Dartmouth)
Part-time, Sunrise (4:00 AM – 9:00 AM)

UPS is hiring individuals to work as part-time Package Handlers. This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering and sliding packages that typically weigh 25 – 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Part-time employees usually work 3 ½ – 4 hours each day and workdays can vary (Monday – Friday) or (Tuesday – Saturday) depending on the building needs. Package Handlers typically do not work on holidays.

This program is state-certified and provides students with the skills needed to work in a variety of medical settings. Topics include physical and emotional care of patients, vital signs, communication skills, handling of stress, safety issues, and the aging process. The course consists of classroom instruction, followed by practice in a nursing lab.

In order to apply these skills in a clinical setting, approximately 24 hours will be spent in a nursing home under the supervision of the instructor.

Job Summary
• Cleans and sanitizes all cages, runs, wards and related areas
• Gives baths (ordinary cleansing and/or medicated) and performs whatever grooming may be necessary to the treatment and constant cleanliness of each animal
• Recognizes and records any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any hospitalized or boarding animal, brings to the attention of the attending DVM

• Releases animals to their owners as directed by the attending doctor and/or ward nurse and insures that every animal released is clean and properly groomed (pets are clean and smell fresh)
• Assists doctors, nurses, treatment assistants and other personnel with the administration of medications or with restraint
• Scans boarding notes upon the discharge of boarding patients
• Perform general cleaning daily

Sign-on bonuses up to $12,000! Are you a Massachusetts Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) or a LABA assistant? Autism Resource & Therapy Center, of Westborough MA, is currently seeking clinical supervisors in the Central Massachusetts area (i.e. Worcester, Fitchburg, Gardner, Leominster, and Marlborough). The clinical supervisor is responsible for the completion of behavioral assessments, short and long-term behavioral consultations, and direct treatment as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.

General Responsibilities
• Complete Behavioral Assessments to include Functional Assessments.
• Develop individual goals and objectives to be included in the clients’ Initial Treatment Plan.
• Develop written guidelines for behavioral intervention/maladaptive behavioral reduction and skill acquisition plans/programs.
• Provide training (to families, staff, team members, and individual/agencies contracting for training) in behavioral interventions and applied behavior analysis as assigned by the Clinical Director.
• Develop periodic progress reports.
• Analyze data collected on a weekly basis to determine client’s behavioral intervention/maladaptive behavioral reduction and skill acquisition plan/program effectiveness.
• Supervise and train Behavioral Therapists
• Represent the agency professionally to all stakeholders and in meetings or conferences related to ABA services and/or matters.

Basic Qualifications for LABA
• Must have Master’s in psychology, education or relevant field with strong post-degree training in ABA, cognitive and behavioral psychology and/or Licensure from the state of MA (LABA). Compliance Officer (Community Relations Specialist) – City of New Bedford

PAY: $51,693 – $64,622

Develops and implements a comprehensive communications plan that includes short- and long-term strategies for building community awareness about and support for the Department.

Informs the PIO, Office of the Chief of Police and Municipal leaders in relevant and important media inquiries, and keeps all parties updated on upcoming and ongoing news stories. Identifies and pitches news story to the PIO ideas through a range of proactive media strategies. Assists the PIO in leading communication during crisis situations and unanticipated incidents, including timely dissemination of information to the media, families, staff and the community.

Coordinates writing, editing, design, production and distribution of clear, concise, “community-friendly” print and digital materials (e.g., letters, brochures, social media outlets, articles, videos, fact sheets, fliers) to communicate the Department’s goals and priorities to various partner organizations, community leaders and residents.

Collaborates with technology staff to write and update content on the district’s external website, social media tools and other on-line resources to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
Bachelor’s degree in, or knowledge equivalent to, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field. Successful candidate should have three years’ experience in the public relations/communications/marketing field at varied levels and with increasing responsibility; or three years’ experience in print and/or electronic journalism. Or any equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Groundperson – Asplundh Tree Expert (Dartmouth)

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Vegetation Groundperson to join our team.

Essential Functions
• Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.
• Gathers brush and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Applies chemical herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal
• Utilizes hose and spray nozzle from truck mounted spray equipment which includes tank, pump, hose reel, 200 feet of ½ inch hose, or utilizes back-pack to treat remote areas.
• Services truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
• Assists senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.
• Works around hazardous equipment.
• Works around excessive noise from machines, chain saws, wood chipper, with hearing protection.
• Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature, i.e., irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
• Works on unlevel ground.
• Works around falling limbs with protection.

Minimum Requirements
• Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.
• Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
• Must be able to traverse various terrains.
• Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
• Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis, and up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
• Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools.
• Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must have transportation to and from the startup location.
• Must pass a background and/or MVR check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Assessment Specialist – City of New Bedford

PAY: $47,339 – $59,178

Inspects, measures and records information of real and personal properties for ad valorem valuation. Verifies all information on property record card; produces quality and quantity necessary to meet Massachusetts appraisal standards. Assists in the re-mapping of parcels that need to be split or combined. Translates the field data onto computerized property record cards, and makes the necessary calculations and computations from cost and depreciation tables to determine the property’s valuation, when necessary.

At least two (2) years of experience in the assessing, building, or appraisal field. Possession of a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and good driving record. Possession of Massachusetts Accredited Assessor (MAA) designation desired. Mandatory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Investigation) background check per City Council Ordinance effective May 14, 2013.

Garage Attendant – City of New Bedford

PAY: $13.99hr – $18.51hr

Maintains and performs minor repairs of all City vehicles. Road calls for flat tires, dead batteries and lockouts. Pumps gas and diesel fuel into cars, trucks and other municipal vehicles; records fuel and other parts and supplies used, picks up parts and supplies; performs minor repairs, changes light bulbs, basic fluid checks, etc.; cleans and washes vehicles, maintains cleanliness of work area.

Must have valid Massachusetts driver’s license and good driving record. Operates a motor vehicle on a regular basis. Mandatory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Investigation) background check per City Council Ordinance effective May 14, 2013.
