Sex Offender Captured Less Than a Day After Being Added to Most Wanted List

Massachusetts State Police Troopers and Holyoke Police this morning arrested ROBERTO JIMENEZ, 35, less than a day after he was added to the State Police Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

A Level 3 Sex Offender, JIMENEZ was in violation of his Lifetime Sex Offender Registration requirements and of his probation conditions, which both stem from his 2006 conviction for rape and indecent assault of a child in Springfield. The victim in that case was a 12-year-old boy whom JIMENEZ met in an online chat room and persuaded the boy to meet him under the guise of playing video games.

Troopers from the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (MSP VFAS) within the last day developed information that JIMENEZ may be inside an apartment on Sergeant Street in Holyoke. MSP VFAS Troopers and a Holyoke Police detective went to the apartment this morning and took JIMENEZ into custody at 7:30 a.m.

JIMENEZ’s brother, EMMANUEL JIMENEZ, was also located inside the apartment and found to be the subject of several outstanding warrants for narcotics possession, domestic assault and battery, and motor vehicle offenses. The JIMENEZ brothers were booked at the Holyoke Police station and transported to Holyoke District Court for their arraignments.

Of note, ROBERTO JIMENEZ is a repeat member of the MSP’s Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, having been previously added to the list and captured in 2013 prior to violating his registration requirements again.

ROBERTO JIMENEZ was one of five fugitives added to the State Police Most Wanted Sex Offenders list over the last two days.

Anyone who sees any of these fugitives or has knowledge of their whereabouts is urged to call the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-527-8873 or to call 911.
