RAPPP has plenty of activities scheduled for May!

Southcoast Hospitals’ RAPPP program announces after school programming for May. The Southcoast™ Hospitals’ Responsible Attitudes toward Pregnancy, Parenting & Prevention (RAPPP) Program is hosting a series of after school activities during the month of May.

Experienced teachers will also be available to help students with math, science, English and history homework. Each day of the week will feature a different theme; the following is the list of activities scheduled for May:


Wednesday, May 1: Homemade Salsa.

Thursday, May 2: Cinco De Mayo Celebration and help with English and history homework.

Friday, May 3: Open Drop In.

Monday, May 6: X BOX Tournament Round I (with prizes) and Southcoast Health Van will provide free health screenings and education.

Tuesday, May 7: Spring Flower Craft Day and help with math and science homework.

Wednesday, May 8: Guacamole & Chips.

Thursday, May 9: Mexican Jewelry Making and help with English and history homework.

Friday, May 10: Open Drop In.

Monday, May 13: Spa Day and X BOX Tournament Round II (with prizes).

Tuesday, May 14: Spring Flower Planting Day and help with math and science homework.

Wednesday, May 15: Chili con Queso.

Thursday, May 16: Take Me Out to the Ballgame Day and help with English and history homework.

Friday, May 17: Open Drop In and Field Trip to the Pawtucket Red Sox game. Pre-registration and a signed permission slip is required in advance to attend the field trip.

Monday, May 20: X BOX Tournament Finals (with prizes) and Southcoast Health Van will provide free health screenings and education.

Tuesday, May 21: Couture Nail Day and help with math and science homework.

Wednesday, May 22: Vegan Nachos.

Thursday, May 23: How to score a baseball game and help with English and history homework.

Friday, May 24: Open Drop In.

Monday, May 27: Memorial Day, office is closed.

Tuesday, May 28: Button Art Day and help with math and science homework.

Wednesday, May 29: Frozen Limeade.

Thursday, May 30: Maypole Dance and help with English and history homework.

Friday, May 31: Open Drop In.


After school programs take place from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Southcoast RAPPP’s drop-in center at 1208 Ashley Boulevard in New Bedford. Programs are offered to tweens and teens age 11 to 19 and are free of charge. Snacks will be provided to all participants. Youth can register for upcoming activities by stopping by the RAPPP drop-in center, however registration is not required.
