“Message and announcement from Rochester Fire Department Chief Scott Weigel:

It is with deep regret and we are saddened to announce the passing of Lieutenant Scott Chadwick.

Lieutenant Chadwick’s career with the RFD started in 1967. Lieutenant Chadwick had a love and passion for the Rochester Fire Department which transcends 5 decades of service and which he passed on to the many members he trained and mentored throughout his 50+ years of dedicated and unwavering service.

Lieutenant Chadwick worked as a mechanic for Weigel’s Automotive in New Bedford for over 30 years and also worked for the Rochester Highway Department. He was always quick with a smile and a warm welcome. Our friend, we will miss your stories, laughter, smile, friendship guidance and mentorship.

Lieutenant Chadwick was a committed and dedicated member of our department and our community. A great ambassador, a true leader, and a truer friend.

Lieutenant Chadwick, you will be greatly missed and you will never be forgotten. We will announce services at the direction and consideration of the family.”
