Replica gun used in road rage Leads To Arrest In Medford

Gary Pimental pointed a replica firearm at another motorist on the highway.

Trooper Michael Rockett was contacted by Medford police to assist with a traffic stop. A motorist had called 911 and told Medford police that the operator of a Honda Accord had pointed a gun at her after a road rage incident. She followed the vehicle until Medford Police Officer Danny D’Amica stopped the Honda.

The operator of the Honda, 20-year-old GARY PIMENTEL of Charlestown was found to have a replica firearm with the orange tip painted black.

Police determined the road rage incident occurred on the ramp from Route 93 northbound to Mystic Avenue in Somerville. Trooper Rockett spoke with PIMENTEL and after determining a crime had occurred arrested him and transported him to the State Police Barracks in Medford, where he was booked and is being held pending release on bail.

PIMENTEL he was charged with the following offenses:

Disorderly conduct;

Assault with a dangerous weapon.

PIMENTEL will be arraigned in Somerville District Court Thursday morning
