Public invited to panel discussion on African-American abolitionist and inventor, Lewis Temple

The Harpoon Project and Legacy of Lewis Temple, Wednesday, January 29, 6-8 PM.

Join us for a panel discussion celebrating the legacy of African-American abolitionist and inventor, Lewis Temple, whose invention of the toggle harpoon in 1848 inspired the creation of the Harpoon Project, a site-specific installation for New Bedford by European Artist Ilona Nemeth.

Panelists include Carl Cruz, New Bedford Historical Society, Michael Dyer, New Bedford Whaling Museum, Janine da Silva, New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, and Linda Whyte Burrell, artist. The panel will be moderated by Marc Levitt, Action Speaks Radio Show.
