Proud Dartmouth mom’s daughter creates safe space for minority students and allies

“My daughter Alexia Ashe attends Dartmouth High School and founded and leads the first black student union. I’m so proud of her for creating the newest and largest club with space for everyone. This is just one of her many accomplishments.

The meetings take place once a week during their free period.

My daughter was teased and struggled as one of the few black students in Dartmouth and as the diversity in Dartmouth’s students grew my daughter decided to create a safe space for all minority students and allies. She made it possible with the support of John-Paul Emile and some of her teachers at Dartmouth High School.”-Fatima Pinheiro.
