Learn about The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, TN from someone who has been there! Liisa Budge-Johnson is giving a presentation on the Sanctuary at Gallery X, 169 Williams Street, New Bedford beginning at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Ms. Budge-Johnson volunteers her time teaching about the Sanctuary’s mission: to take in sick, needy and elderly elephants. Since 1995, the Sanctuary has taken in 24 elephants from circuses and zoos.

Located on 2,700 acres of fields and forests, the Sanctuary reintroduces elephants to a natural habitat so they can roam at will.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
