At 10:08 p.m. Thursday, Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Shelburne Falls responded to calls of a vehicle rolled over on the ramp from Route 91 northbound to Route 2 eastbound in Greenfield. The preliminary investigation indicates that speed was a factor when the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe lost control and rolled over.

The operator of the vehicle, 54-year-old Lawrence A. Jubb of Greenfield, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was determined to be deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 20-year-old Hatfield man, also was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Franklin Medical Center by Greenfield EMS with serious injuries.

Troopers from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Crime Scene Services Section and the Franklin State Police Detective Unit responded to the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

No further information is available at this time. Please do not contact the barracks.
