State Police Investigating Fatal Crash on Rt.95

Yesterday morning at about 4:49 a.m., troopers from the Concord Barracks responded to a report of a rollover crash involving a tandem tractor trailer unit on Route 95 northbound, south of exit 31 in Lexington.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Patrick Scanlon indicates that the operator, a 52 year-old male from Saugus and the sole occupant of a 2005 tractor trailer unit, was traveling northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle causing it to rollover onto its side.

As a result of the crash, the operator was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Lahey Clinic, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld at this time pending family notification.

The two right travel lanes and break down lane of Route 95 north were closed. The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and the Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS).

State Police were also assisted on scene by Lexington Fire and EMS and Mass DOT. There is no further information available. Please do not contact the barracks for media inquiries.
