Massachusetts State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Middleboro

The vehicle traveled off the roadway and crashed into the wood line.

This morning at approximately 6:33 a.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Middleboro responded to a report of single-vehicle crash on Route 495 North between exits 2 and 3 in Middleboro.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Croteau indicates that an 61-year-old man was traveling on Route 495 North when his vehicle traveled off the roadway and crashed into the wood line. The operator and sole occupant was transported to Tobey Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

While this crash remains under investigation, it is believed that it might have been the result of a medical issue. State Police were assisted on scene by Middleboro Fire and EMS.
